Dataset description

This table provides data on the number of vans in the name of companies (commercial delivery cars), traffic performance (driving kilometres) of these vehicles and average annual mileage. These figures are broken down by industry (SBI 2008), size of the company and age of the vehicle. The figures in this table refer to all vans with a valid Dutch registration number admitted to traffic on public roads during (part of) the reporting year, including: — Order cars belonging to the company’s stock in (part of) the year. — Order cars operating on the road network only for part of the year, such as new or imported vehicles and vehicles which have been demolished or exported during the year. The calculated numbers are therefore higher than the number of (active) vans registered on 1 January. Because the quality of the 2016 lease file is better than the years before, more vans can be allocated to the branch of the company that leases the van (the lessee). This may lead to shifts between, inter alia, branches and regions. Data available from: 2009 Status of the figures: The 2019 and 2020 figures are provisional. The figures for previous years are definitive. This table uses multiple (external) source files. Changes in these stocks may allow (final) figures to be adjusted retroactively in this table. Changes as of 24 January 2022: The 2020 figures have been added. Also, an improvement in the method of vehicles can now be better allocated to the main user, thus adjusting the figures for 2018 and 2019. When will there be new figures? The new figures are expected in Q1 2023.
