This table provides data on the number of companies and institutions to economic activity, based on the 2008 Standard Business Classification (SBI 2008) divided into 21 sections and 86 divisions of the 2008 SBI. The companies are also classified according to company size on the basis of the number of persons employed and by legal form. The number of companies is rounded to a multiple of five. The series has been traced back to 2006. When are new figures coming? The table was discontinued on 20 April 2012. The compilation of the figures has changed in two main parts compared to previous years: — the statistical unit has changed. — small businesses are included in the framework. The hour criterion (15 hours) has been released. These changes are so substantial that the results are not comparable to those of previous years and have therefore started with a new table in which the figures have been reduced to 2007.
