What do you see? The map shows populations of trees and shrubs that represent a certain genetic value for these species in the Netherlands. The map gives an overview of the populations that are important for the protection of genetic diversity of the species within Europe: so-called conservation units. What’s the value? Because of their particular genetic composition, the populations represent a certain economic value and/or ecological value. The populations may be important for a production objective (production of high-quality wood) or ecological objective (cultivation material represents an ecological value, also known as native plant material) Who is this important to?
