Dataset description

This table provides data on the number and proportion of persons in the working population who have participated in at least one work-related course and the number of persons in the working population who did not take part in work-related courses. The proportion of the working population taking a work-related course is also presented the number and proportion that at least one work-related course (partially) is paid by the employer. The population surveyed is the Dutch population aged 25 to 65. The figures come from the pilot study Adult Education Survey (AES), a European mandatory study on adult education, which was held in early 2008. In 2013, figures from the regular AES will be published for the first time. This is, in the case of the 2008 pilot, no longer linked to the EBB but a self-contained study with its own sample and weighting. This regular AES will take place periodically. The frequency has not yet been definitively established at the time of publication of these tables. (see 4. Sources and methods). Data available from: 2007 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Changes as of 18 April 2019: The underlying encodings of the classifications used in this table (Personal Characteristics) have been adjusted. These are now in line with the standard coding established by CBS. The structure and data of the table have not been modified. When are new figures coming? The series of figures from this pilot study will not be continued. However, as of 2013, a series of new tables with data from the regular AES research will be published (see 3. Links to relevant tables and articles).
