Dataset description

This table is about court proceedings by the judge. The figures can be broken down by type of crime, type of suspect, the age category of the suspect, type of judge, type of final decision, type of judgment and type of remedy. Cases joined by the judge at the hearing to another case have not been taken into account as a settlement. The figures in the table are rounded to five. Data available from 1994 to 2016. Status of the figures: The figures for the last reporting year are provisional figures. As this table has been discontinued, the data will no longer be definitive. Changes as of 30 November 2017: This table is discontinued. Changes as of 11 September 2017: The figures on the settlements by the court of first instance have been retroactively adjusted from 2001 due to an error in the data transmission to CBS. This led to an underestimation of the number of cases by the judge. It was mainly about super-fast lawsuits that were missing. The underlying encodings of the classifications used in this table have been adjusted. These are now in line with the standard coding established by CBS. The structure and data of the table have not been adapted for this purpose. The preliminary figures for 2016 have been added. Due to the loss of funding, new data will no longer be available for this statistics from 1 January 2018. For more information see the link in paragraph 3. When are new figures coming? Due to the loss of funding, new data will no longer be available for this statistics from 1 January 2018. For more information see the link in paragraph 3.
