Cultural History- Mill Biotopes

This file contains the mill biotopes with a number of characteristics, such as name, location, type and score — good, acceptable, moderate, questionable or bad-. The provinces of Groningen, Gelderland, Zuid-Holland and Zeeland have included in their provincial regulations obligations to protect the mill biotope, which then work through at municipal level. Province of Gelderland puts it as follows: in zoning plans relating to land located within a mill biotope, no new building or planting shall be permitted, unless the explanatory memorandum to the zoning plan demonstrates that the operation of the mill is not restricted by means of wind capture.
