This file contains the locations of old elevated residential lands (culture layers) in the river area. A cultural layer also known as archaeological layer is a phenomenon that occurs mainly in settlement sites in holocene Netherlands. This layer is formed by the mixing of habitation residues (pottery, wood and other organic material) with the substrate of the tread. Under the culture layer, the trace level is usually well preserved. In a gut drill it can be recognised as a humus-like layer, in which charcoal particles are present.
