This table provides information on the disposable income of all households in the Netherlands with income (including persons residing in homes and establishments) broken down by income level.
The data on income comes from the Regional Income Survey (RIO) of CBS. The income data shall relate to the declared research year; the reference date of the population is 1 January of the year following the income research year.
As of the RIO 2010, the results are based on integral observation. The previously published results of the RIO (2005-2009) are based on a sample of around 2 million households. In order to allow for comparison between 2010 and 2009 sample results were also published for 2009 on the basis of integral observations, which included both sample-based and integral observations for the year 2009 (breaking year).
The figures are broken down by
— part of the country
— province
— COROP area
— metropolitan agglomeration
— city-west
— municipality
from 1 January of the following year.
Data available from: 2005
Since the 2007 research year, improvements have been made in the income production system of the Regional Income Research (RIO). This improved research method has also been applied to RIO2006 and RIO2005, creating a series of comparable figures from 2005 onwards. Small differences should be taken into account when comparing these results with already published RIO research results.
