Flat elements of the cultural-historical main structure for the province of Drenthe concerning selected characteristic neighbourhoods. In Meppel, for example, the Wilhelminapark with adjacent villa buildings dating from the flowering period 1870-1940 is characteristic, in Assen the historical construction structures along the Vaart and the Hoofdlaan, along the Asserbos and the villa building of the Hertenkamp and Oud-Zuid. In Emmen, three characteristic post-war districts represent successive phases in thinking about urban living.
