This table provides information on the origin and destination of emissions to water of fertilising substances (nutrients) and heavy metals. This information is part of the environmental accounts. The origin of emissions by water can be divided into Dutch economy (disaggregated by private households and industries) and abroad. The destination can be divided into absorption by producers, disposal abroad and contribution to the environmental problem. The figures from this table can be compared in a consistent manner with macroeconomic indicators. Furthermore, indicators can be derived from the water emission accounts for emissions of heavy metals to water and the fertilisation of surface water. These indicators can be used to support water policy.
Data available from: 1995
Status of the figures:
In order to obtain consistent and coherent time series, the full time series shall be (re)calculated. The latest insights, in particular those relating to emission factors, are taken into account in the calculations.
Changes as of 30 January 2015
None, this is a new table.
This table replaces a similar table with figures up to 2010 with figures for the years 1995, 2000, 2005 and 2010 from emissions recording, including figures for intermediate years (see paragraph 3. Links to relevant tables and articles).
When are new figures coming?
The new figures will be available every two years in October in the same years. The next publication will be in October 2016.
