Dataset description

This table contains quarterly and annual figures on labour participation in the Netherlands. The population aged 15 to 75 (excluding the institutional population) is divided into the employed, unemployed and non-occupied populations. The working population is further classified on the basis of the employment position and the average working time. A breakdown by gender, age and educational level is available for the different classifications. Due to changes in the research design and questionnaire of the EBB, a revision of the figures for reporting year 2021 was carried out in the first quarter of 2022. The figures from 2021 onwards are not necessarily comparable to those up to 2020. Data available from 2003 to 2022 Status of the figures: The figures from 2021 are final. Changes as of 17 August 2022: None, this table has been discontinued. Changes as of 15 February 2022: The annual figures for 2021 and the quarterly figures for the third and fourth quarters of 2021 have been published. The figures for the first two quarters of 2021 have been revised. From 2021 onwards, ‘Position in the Workplace’ has ceased to be the categories ‘Curtained Employee, No Fixed Hours’ and ‘Worker Temporary, No Fixed Hours’, as from 2021 they will be counted under the category ‘Call/Repair Force’. In addition, a new category ‘Employee flex, contract unknown’ has been added from 2021 onwards. When are new figures coming? No longer applicable. This table is followed up by the Working Labour Force table; position in the working circle. See paragraph 3.
