This table is about employees who experienced a situation in which care was needed for a sick family member in the year preceding the survey. These are employees aged 15 to 65 with paid work for 12 hours or more per week. It has been asked separately about long- and short-term care situations. Employees could have had both. In the case of long-term care, several people have also been asked whether long-term care has been required, for example for both a child, a partner or a parent. For this reason, the data on long-term care is also included for whom care was needed. For each care situation, it has been checked whether the employee himself for the sick person
family member cared for or not. Workers who have cared for in one of the situations have been asked whether they have made use of leave arrangements. If this was not the case, it was asked if they were in need of leave. It was also asked which leave arrangements were used and the reasons for not taking leave. Employees who have not taken care of (each of the) care situations have been asked whether they themselves had
they want to care and why they did not provide that care themselves.
