This table contains annual figures and quarterly figures on labour participation in the Netherlands for parts of the country, provinces and the four major cities. The population aged 15 to 75 is divided into the employed, unemployed and non-occupied populations. The working population is further classified on the basis of employment and employment level.
Due to municipal reclassifications per 2019, a number of municipalities have moved from the province of Zuid-Holland to the province of Utrecht. The quarterly figures for the provinces of Zuid-Holland and Utrecht are therefore based on a different provincial classification in 2019 than in the previous years. For a further explanation see paragraph 4. Sources and methods.
Due to changes in the research design and questionnaire of the EBB, a revision of the figures for reporting year 2021 has been carried out. The figures for 2021 are not necessarily comparable to the figures up to 2020.
Data available from 2003 to 2022.
