Dataset description

As part of the Environmental Accounts, CBS annually draws up the waste accounts together. Find out where the waste comes from. origin and where it goes (the destination).Waste is here subdivided into the categories of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The origin of the amount of waste from households, business classes and import are presented.At the destination of waste a distinction is made between processing methods (re-use, burning and dumping/freezing) and export. The categories of waste in the waste accounts are classified according to European waste statistics ordinance. The waste accounts allow for different types of waste indicators (e.g. total amount of waste generated) on compare a consistent way with macroeconomic indicators (such as gross domestic product).In addition, the waste accounts very suitable for analyses of, for example, the cause of changes waste indicators over time. The waste streams in the waste accounts are limited to waste that is directly releases from productive or consumer activities.For double counts to prevent waste that arises after treatment (waste of waste) disregarded as much as possible.Outside the waste accounts include the use of products on, inter alia, agricultural land (pesticides) and roads (salt). Also not included is waste that arises as a result of for example, erosion and corrosion of infrastructure, the wear of car tires and brake discs and the leakage of engine oil. The figures for the last two years have a preliminary status. The figures of the other years are final. Reason to stop: As of June 2011, the new standard business classification will be 2008 (SBI 2008) used by the National Accounts. The National accounts were transferred from the SBI '93 to the 2008 SBI. The Environmental accounts are in line with this as of November 2011.
