This table provides information on the costs of measures to combat environmental pollution from traffic.
This table provides figures on the annual environmental costs of measures preventing and combating air pollution and noise pollution from traffic. Important measures to reduce emissions of air pollutants and which determine a significant part of the annual environmental costs of traffic are the adaptations to engines (e.g. Euro-6), more environmentally friendly fuels (in particular desulphurised fuels) and vehicle inspections (APK). With regard to the reduction of noise pollution, the government takes various measures, such as the installation of noise barriers, quiet asphalt and housing insulation.
In addition to the costs of environmental measures, the fees paid and the subsidies received are also mapped out.
The environmental costs of energy-efficient cars are not included in the environmental costs by CBS. Buyers of energy-efficient cars receive a discount on the BPM. Since these funds flow back to the general resources, they are outside the environmental cost definition of CBS. As a result, they are not included in the table.
