This table has been discontinued. The figures are available through the database of environmentally harmful foods of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). See the URL in paragraph 3. In this way, the figures can be better provided with directly visible explanations, which should avoid misinterpretation.
The figures in this table come from a study commissioned by the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). This table provides insight into the environmental impact of food products consumed in the Netherlands. These environmental data are used, among other things, for research on healthy and sustainable diets and information about them, and have been made available to offer a consistent set of environmental data to various interested parties to cooperate.
The necessary ‘inventory of the life cycle’ of food products has been carried out on behalf of RIVM by Blonk Consultants. An important disclaimer here is that no critical review has been done as specified in the ISO-14040 standard. This means that the environmental data are not suitable for comparing individual foods for the purpose of communicating publicly. This requires an external review, as specified in the ISO-14040 standard.
Data available from 2019 to 2019.
