Version of Beken adopted by Provincial Staten van Drenthe on 3 October 2018. Climate change has the effect of increasing rainfall in winter and more frequent periods of drought and high temperature in spring and summer. Not only does it become drier, there are also more frequent showers in the summer. This leads to flooding in built-up areas and in agriculture.
