By Provinciale Staten van Drenthe, the version of Drents Plateau was adopted on 3 October 2018. Due to climate change, drought periods are also increasing. On the Drents Plateau we hold as much water as possible to bridge drought. This makes agriculture partially self-sufficient and prevents dehydration of nature as much as possible.
