This file contains the ashes located within the province of Groningen. Essen are with manure raised old building lands around villages that lie on a sand or keileem back. The province of Groningen considers it important that the relief of ashes (in Westerwolde and Gorecht) remains visible from the surrounding landscape and that the open character of the ashes is preserved. The quality of this core characteristic may be affected by cultivation and planting on and in the vicinity of these ashs. Agricultural use can flatten the relief of the ashes and damage the soil archive. Essen is replenished to restore the defected appearance and to better protect the soil archive from erosion. At the ashes we accentuate the bulging location and also protect the underlying soil archive by covering with soil against erosion. At various ashes we also strive to restore steep edges. Municipalities are expected to take into account the protection of openness and relief of ashes in their land use plans. In order to ensure the open nature of the ashes, the Provincial Environment Ordinance 2016 lays down rules. This dataset is partially included in the Provincial Environmental Vision 2016-2020 and the 2016 Environment Regulation. Update in case of new AHN3.
