Experience value of the landscape

What do you see? The map gives a model-based prediction of how (visually) attractive Dutch people find the landscape in an area, in the form of a figure from 1 to 10. Only predictions are generated for the Dutch outdoor area, i.e. excluding urban built area. Large surface waters are also outside the scope of the model. What’s the value? The attractiveness of the landscape has a strong relationship with the number of tourist nights, probably mainly through the presence of recreational accommodation, such as campsites (location choice). There is also a relationship between the attractiveness of the surrounding landscape and house prices. Who is this important to? The information is important for recreational entrepreneurs, recreation boards and policy officers for recreation and tourism.
