Dataset description

This map shows for the whole of the Netherlands where the buildings with flat roofs are located. Flat roofs are important because they can serve as a green roof or a water roof. Plants on the roof retain rainwater and therefore ensure that the sewer is less stressed during a heavy rain shower. In addition, a flat roof is also suitable as a water roof. Such a roof also temporarily stops rainwater, which reduces the strain on the sewer. Also, both a green roof and a water roof can provide cooling.
