From employment to retirement; persons 55 years or older, 1999-2016

This table provides information on all persons aged 55 years or older who had labour as their main source of income on the last Friday of September of one year and no longer one year later. In doing so, they can make the transition from employment as the main source of income to pension, benefit or no pension/benefit. These people belonged to the population of the Netherlands at the beginning of the period. The data can be divided into the following characteristics: gender, age, migration background, income source for inflow, the economic activity of the company (SBI '93) where people worked at the beginning of the period and the highest level of education attained. Data available from 1999 to 2000. From 2001 onwards, data are available on income from work abroad, income from other employment and income from benefits abroad. These data come from the income tax returns of the tax authorities. For the years 1999 and 2000, these data were not available. The determination of the principal thus, income sources for these years differ slightly from the following years. Status of the figures: These are preliminary figures. Changes as of 15 June 2018: The table has been discontinued. When are new figures coming? This table has been discontinued. At the end of June 2018, new figures based on the SBI 2008 will be available via customisation.
