Dataset description

The 1953 flood caused a disaster of unprecedented magnitude. Thousands of homes and farms were damaged, irreparably destroyed or completely washed away. From the end of 1953, hundreds of prefabricated ‘gift houses’ rose in various villages and cities. The gift houses were from Norway, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Finland and France. In 2020, an inventory of the present-day gift homes was carried out. We also looked at the status of the homes.
