Grassland renewal on farms with cattle, 1990-2005

Within the framework of agricultural statistics, CBS collects data on grassland renewal. This table contains part of the results of the cattle herd/grass use sample held annually in November among more than 3000 cattle holdings. The topic of grassland renewal however, it is not included in the sample every year. Data on grassland renewal are available for the Netherlands from 1990 onwards and from 1993 also for five agricultural regions. Data on the nature of the crop grown before sowing with grass seed are available from 1999 onwards. In the table, the data can be divided into the following characteristics: — agricultural region; — total grassland area; — total sown area (reinseed, sowing, after other crop); — other crops before sowing (corn, potatoes, cereals, other crops).
