This table provides figures on the percentage of farms grazing dairy cows and/or the corresponding young cattle and figures on the percentage of dairy cows and female young cattle receiving grazing. The grazing of dairy cows is divided according to type of pasture (day and night/during day). For each form of grazing, the average number of hours of grazing per day is shown. In the pasture of female young cattle, it is assumed that the animals are grazed day and night. The figures are broken down by size class based on the number of livestock units (GVE) and by province.
Data available from: 2010.
Status of the figures: The figures until 2020 are final. The figures for 2021 are provisional.
Changes as of 2 August 2022:
None, this is a new table, which is the successor to table “Government of dairy cattle, LU class and region”, see paragraph 3 for the link.
In this table, the classification of the number of hours of grazing into classes has been replaced by the average number of hours of grazing per year, thus providing a better insight into the development of the pasture. In addition, the average number of hours of grazing has been calculated for both the animals receiving grazing and for all animals, including the animals that are in stables throughout the year.
