Within the provincial border there are four different groundwater bodies, which must comply with good chemical and quantitative status. Water is extracted from these bodies for human consumption at various locations. Therefore, these bodies of groundwater should be protected in such a way that, in the long term, the level of water treatment can be reduced. This file shows the Drenthe overlapping groundwater bodies according to the classification of the Water Framework Directive, as in the Environment Vision adopted by Provincial States on 2 June 2010, map 10 (Water Framework Directive).
