This table contains data on young people who have been referred to Halt, distinguished by the offence committed, gender and the highest education attained. Halt is a measure that ensures that young people do not come into direct contact with justice after committing light crime, but are confronted with the consequences of their actions.
The type of offence is determined by reference to the first offence for which a young person has been referred to Halt in a given year. A young person who has been referred to Halt more than once within a year is counted only once in the table.
The table shows the number of young people with Halt settlement per population group in absolute and relative figures. The absolute figures include all young people who have been referred to Halt in a year. The relative figure is calculated per 10,000 persons of the selected population and includes only 12- to 17-year-olds who are registered in the Municipal Basic Administration (GBA).
Data are available from 2005 to 2014. The highest degree can be distinguished from 2006 to 2013.
