This file contains data on the exposure to noise from road traffic due to the provincial roads in North Brabant. and its translation into health risks, so-called GES scores. Calculated sound contours Lden have been translated into GES scores in accordance with the Handbook on Health Impact Screening City & Environment 2012: 55-60 dB = GES 4 (moderate); 60-65 dB = GES 5 (very moderate); 65-70 dB = GES 6 (insufficient); 70-75 dB = GES 7 (very inadequate); >= 75 dB = GES 8 (very inadequate).
The Health Effect Screening (GES) method gives a score (from 0 to 8) to the environmental health quality. Shown on the map from green (GES score 0, very good) via yellow, orange and red (GES score 6, insufficient) to purple (GES score 8, very insufficient). These scores are based on the knowledge of the relationship between exposure and health risks.
The sound contours reflect the situation for the 2011 level year. In addition to roads that fully or partially meet the criteria of the 2nd tranche of the EU Environmental Noise Directive, the other provincial roads are also included.
The noise load is calculated for individual roads. The combined noise load of multiple roads (provincial roads and state roads and provincial roads among themselves) or of road traffic, rail traffic, air traffic and/or companies is not determined. In reality, when combined with multiple sound sources, the noise load and therefore the health effect can therefore be higher.
