Health expenditure; volume and price developments

This table provides information on the value, price and volume developments of healthcare expenditure in a broad sense. The value development is dissected into a volume and a price development. This table replaces the discontinued table 'Care expenditure; in 2010, volume change indices, 1998-2014' (see paragraph 3). Some improvements have been made in the figures up to 2014 in the new table; the effects of the latest revision of the statistics on healthcare expenditure have been taken into account and the figures have been supplemented by more recent years (see also section 3 ‘Relevant articles’). Data available from: 1998 Status of the figures: The figures for 2020 are provisional; the figures for 2019 are further provisional; the other figures are final. Changes as of 7 July 2022: — The figures for 2020 have been added; the 2018 and 2019 figures have been adjusted. — The figures on the price and volume development of mental health care have been adjusted for the period 2015-2019. This is due to a fixed error in the processing. Due to the adjustment of the evolution in the base year, the indices of the whole series change. When are new figures coming? In the second quarter of 2023, the figures for 2019 and 2020 will be revised and the figures for 2021 will be added.
