This table shows the wide variety of long-term ranges in health, lifestyle and health care. Figures on birth and mortality, some causes of death and the occurrence of certain infectious diseases are available from 1900 onwards. Other series start at a later time.
In addition to experienced health, the table includes figures on infectious diseases, hospitalisations by diagnosis, life expectancy, lifestyle factors such as smoking, alcohol and overweight, and causes of death. Various aspects of health care such as the number of professionals, the number of available hospital beds, the average nursing duration and the expenditure on care are also shown in the table.
Many topics are also, in more detail, in other StatLine tables, but sometimes with a shorter duration. Data on obliged infectious diseases and AIDS/HIV are not included in other tables.
