In this table you will find figures on the expenditure and financing of health and welfare care from 1972 onwards. The table contains amounts in current and constant prices. All activities in the field of health and well-being are taken into account, regardless of whether these activities take place as a principal or as a secondary activity.
In 1998, the description of costs and funding of public-funded health care was transferred to a description of the whole area of care financed by all possible sources. In this table, the figures of the Health Care Accounts are returned to 1972. Since the figures were estimated differently before 1999 than after 1997, the year 1998 was recorded twice: once with the newly estimated figures based on the old statistics, and once with the figures according to the new set-up.
Data available from: 1972
Status of the figures:
The figures for 2013 and 2012 are further provisional. Figures from the other years are final.
Changes as of 17 December 2015:
None, this table has been discontinued.
When are new figures coming?
No longer applicable. Due to a revision, new figures for the years 1998-2014 have been published (see link to the table with key figures at the bottom). New data sources have been fully and coherently incorporated into the health accounts and traced back to 1998 so that consistent time series are available for the period 1998-2014. This table has been adapted in line with it and continued as another table, see paragraph 3.
