This table contains figures on the number of heat pumps, the capacity of these heat pumps and the amount of energy produced and consumed. The temperature of the heat from the soil or outside air is often not high enough for direct use. Therefore, heat pumps are used to bring the temperature to a sufficiently high level. Heat from the soil or outside air is a form of renewable energy. Figures have also been included on the avoided consumption of fossil energy and avoided carbon dioxide emissions. The data can be broken down by heat source (floor or outdoor air) and by sector (residential or utility).
