Higher education; first-year, education, training phase 2000/'01-2021/22

This table shows the number of first-year students at government-funded higher education institutions by type of education, migration background, pre-training, training phase and academic year. From the academic year 2015/'16, this table also shows the number of first-year students at a number of designated institutions: the theological universities and the University of Humanistics. From the academic year 2016/'17, the Transnational University of Limburg has also been included. Data available from: academic year 2000/'01. Status of the figures: The figures for the academic years up to 2020/‘21 are final and the figures for the academic year 2021/’22 are provisional. Changes as of 23 January 2023: None, this table has been discontinued. As a result, the provisional figures for academic year 2021/'22 will no longer be made definitive.
