IKN_National Park Drentsche Aa

This card is a copy for the Nature Information Card (IKN). The entire catchment area of the Drentsche Aa is designated as a National Park. This is from the source area “Hart van Drenthe” to the lower run in the Groningen part. The Drentsche Aa National Park has internationally rare and nationally distinctive landscape qualities, and associated with special natural, cultural historical and recreational qualities. Landscape, cultural history and natural qualities of national parks should be preserved, managed sustainably and strengthened where possible. Coherence, accessibility and liveability are also key concepts. The starting point is that national parks should be able to develop sufficiently socio-economically, while preserving and strengthening the special qualities of the area. The ambitions in the Drentsche Aa contribute to a robust nature and water system as a clean source for drinking water extraction and strengthening the development of spatial quality.
