In this table you will find data on indirect taxes included in the (consumptive) expenditure of private households. The different indirect taxes are turnover tax (VAT), excise duty, consumption tax, environmental tax on energy and water, insurance tax and motor vehicle tax. Multiple tax types may apply or be levied on a product or service and are shown separately in the table.
In addition to indirect taxes on (consumer) expenditure, the corresponding expenditures made by private households are also included in the table. In this table, private households are distinguished by various characteristics, by size, composition, age, source of income, housing situation and income height.
Indirect taxes on spending have been estimated using data on spending from the Budget research. If less than 50 observations from the Budget study are available for a group of households with specific characteristics, figures on spending, indirect taxes and pressures are considered insufficiently reliable and not shown.
Data available from 2006 to 2013.
