This table provides information on the development of production, turnover and orders in the industry (excluding construction). The trend is reflected by indices (base year 2005) and as percentage changes compared to the same period the year before.
The data is divided into branches according to the Standard Business Classification (SBI) 2008.
Data available: January 2000 to December 2012
When are new figures coming?
This table was discontinued on 22 March 2013.
The statistical examination which forms the basis of the results in this table has since
the publication date of the first reporting period of 2013 is subject to a significant change:
In 2013, from reference year 2005 to 2010 (2010 = 100), the weighting factors were updated and based on the year 2010. When calculating indices, the weighting factors reflect the proportion with which the underlying outcomes count in a publication group. Because of these changes, CBS has released a new table, Industry (excluding construction); production, turnover, orders, index 2010=100. For more information, see paragraphs 3 and 4.
Status of the figures
After the discontinuation of this table, the figures are no longer adjusted, therefore the figures for the last three months remain provisional and the remaining months of 2012 remain further provisional. The remaining periods are final.
Amendment as of 8 July 2011.
In connection with new directives (European System of National Accounts, 2010, Balance of Payments Manual 6) for National Accounts and Balance of Payments, the turnover definition has been adjusted, resulting in adjustments in the production index and short-term statistics. This adjustment is linked to a modified
registration of those companies that (partly) outsource their production to foreign countries.
The adjustment means that goods that are processed or counted as Dutch production by Dutch subsidiaries abroad are counted as Dutch production. Goods that are processed or cultivated in the Netherlands, but are owned by foreign companies, are no longer counted as Dutch production but as services abroad and for the amount added to value in the Netherlands.
For the turnover industry, the indices are based on the old turnover definition until December 2009. As of January 2010, the indices are based on the new turnover definition. As a result, the
changes from 2010 to 2009 are not real.
