The KNMI manages 33 automatic weather stations on the land. These weather stations measure meteorological parameters such as temperature, precipitation, wind, air pressure and global radiation. All hourly observations and measurements received in real-time are checked for accuracy and completeness on a daily basis. The validated data is archived in the Klimatological Information System (KIS) of the KNMI. The hourly data are compiled daily and once a day the reference crop evaporation is calculated using the Makkink method. After editing and archiving the data in KIS, it can no longer be changed.
