In this table you will find data on the characteristics of the labour force, broken down by gender, age, origin, level of education and direction.
This table is a new version of the Statline publication profession; education level/direction. The reason for this innovation was the new Standard Educational Classification 2006 (SOI 2006). In the previous editions of the SOI, it was possible to distinguish four courses with the help of the EBB. With the 2006 SOI, there are ten. In this new publication, visitors to Statline — unlike before — can now also select one or more of these training courses.
Data available from 2001-2012.
Status of the figures
The 2012 figures relating to the level of education are provisional, the other figures are final.
Changes as of 15 July 2015:
None, this table has been discontinued.
Amendment as of 16 December 2013:
The 2012 figures were published on 5 July 2013. For the Occupational Population Survey (EBB), observations will be made on the internet from the fourth quarter of 2012. One of the consequences of this is that the questions relating to education have changed, from which only the direction of education can be derived according to the International Classification (ISCED). In the fourth quarter of 2012, approximately one third of respondents answered the new question. The published education grades for 2012 based on the national (SOI) classification therefore contain relatively many unknowns. These 2012 figures have therefore been withdrawn. However, the educational grades based on the ISCED classification are available as a tailor-made table.
Changes as of 5 July 2013:
Figures for the year 2012 have been added. The data on the level of education in 2012 are provisional as a result of a changed question. The final figures are expected to be published in 2014.
When are new figures coming?
This table has been discontinued. The update of 5 July 2013 was the last update of this table. New revised tables on the labour force were published on 26 February 2015. This revision of the statistics of the labour force has two parts. The definitions have been adapted to the internationally agreed definitions and data collection has been improved by being the first statistical office in Europe to survey via the Internet. For more information on the revision, see the link to the press release in paragraph 3.
