On the map you can see what measures have been taken in recent years to map the soil quality of your environment (archive or soil research) or to restore (soil remediation). Based on the colours in the legend, you can see whether the archive or soil research carried out has led to follow-up actions such as further soil research or soil remediation. The map does not indicate to what extent or with which substances the soil is contaminated. Governments receive a lot of information about the soil when carrying out their statutory tasks. If soil quality does not comply with the law and pollution poses a threat to humans, animals or ecosystems, the government ensures that action is taken: the contamination is removed or the contamination is shielded. Municipalities and provinces keep track of which interventions are taking place. You can request more information about the individual cases from the province or municipality that manages the data.
