The Leefbaarometer is an instrument that gives an estimate of the quality of life up to a low scale (raster squares of 100 x 100 meters). The instrument does so on the basis of a large number of characteristics of the living environment, ranging from the crimes committed in an area to the local noise tax. The instrument is intended to give a picture of where it is expected, based on those environmental characteristics, to be good or bad with its livability and how it develops. The Leefbaarometer thus serves as a signalling and monitoring tool, respectively. How the situation on the spot really is, always asks for further research because there can also be other things to play than that the Leefbaarometer measures.
The model of the Leefbaarometer was completely revised in 2021 (see link: Leefbaarometer3.0; instrument development). A new measurement takes place every two years. This dataset contains — in addition to the results of previous years — the results with the 2020 data. The database contains per municipality/district/neighborhood/4ppc the habitability classes, the classes for the deviation from the national average, and the development classes for the years 2002, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. The stock also contains data on the deviations from the national average for the years 2014, 2018 and 2020 and for development in the 2014-2020 and 2018-2020 periods (Woningstock, Physical Environment, Provisions, Social Cohesion, Surgery and Insecurity). The results of previous measurements — 2002, 2008, 2012 and 2016 — have been transformed in such a way that they are consistent with the measurements of 2014, 2018 and 2020 with Leefbaarometer 3.0. Since only 2014, 2018 and 2020 have been calculated with the model of Livebarometer 3.0, the dimension scores can only be displayed for these years. Furthermore, the shapefiles for the topographical layouts used are available.
