Under the FIDO Act (= Financing Decentralised Governments)
CBS reports quarterly since 2001 to the Ministry of
Finances on the EMU balance of 5 levels of government; municipalities,
provinces, water boards, common arrangements
and police regions.
To this end, the local authorities concerned receive a quarterly survey—
form (paper or e-mail) containing some posts on the financial
have to fill in the account. CBS calculates the EMU balances. Each
quarterly, a high response to the survey (over 90 %) is achieved. The
data usually appears on StatLine about a quarter after
end of the reporting period. The data for a specific
the reporting period shall be revised twice. In July a year after the
reporting period and in July two years after the reporting period so that a member
can be at the starting positions or the final positions of the
balance sheet items from the annual accounts.
EMU balances of municipalities, debts and debts by primo year
and by stocks and changes per quarter.
