This table shows the average number of hours worked per week for medically skilled employees by sector in a reporting year.
The medical professionals are divided into a number of professions, including the specialisations per profession, using the BIG register.
In this table, figures are given only for socio-economic category ‘employee’, i.e. persons whose main source of income is employed.
The figures are broken down by age and gender.
Medical professionals can have multiple powers. As a result, the sum of the detail data may differ from the total.
In 2014, there is a sharp decrease in the number of registered nurses, midwives and physiotherapists in the BIG register. This is due to mandatory re-registration and stricter work experience requirements.
In 2017, there is a decrease in the number of registered dentists, pharmacists, health care psychologists and psychotherapists due to mandatory re-registration.
In 2018, there is a decrease in basic doctors due to mandatory re-registration.
In 2019, the number of registered nurses, midwives and physiotherapists again decreased as a result of the 5 annual re-registration introduced in 2014.
