The figures in this table come from the Medicine and Devices Information Project (GIP drugs) of the Zorginstituut Nederland (ZiN). This table was created for The State of Public Health and Care and contains data on the developments in the use of medicines.
This concerns care that is provided extramural (i.e. outside institutions such as hospitals and nursing homes) on the basis of the Health Insurance Act. So only the extramural medicines provided are reimbursed from the compulsory basic health insurance.
The use of medicinal products can be broken down by: insured characteristics (age and gender), type of medicine (ATC classification). Output variables are total costs and numbers of users.
This table has been discontinued, see in section 4 the link to the BIP database. The figures are also available there.
