Municipal budgets; Levies by region and size class

This table concerns the budgeted revenues of municipal levies in millions of euros and in euros per inhabitant. Here the municipalities have been divided into regions according to their geographical location and the number of inhabitants. The presented figures only contain data that adhere to the definitions and classifications that municipalities themselves use in their administration, as laid down in the Directive for Budgeting and Accounting for provinces and municipalities (BBV) for provinces and municipalities. Data available from: 2017 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional at the time of first publication. Upon the second publication in January/February following the financial year, last year’s figures will become definitive. If there are any changes, these are the consequence of new or revised figures becoming available. Changes as of 3 February 2022: The provisional figures for 2022 have been added. The figures for 2021 have become definitive. When will new figures be published? The new provisional figures will be made available in the months of January/February following the financial year. Figures will become definitive in the months of January/February following the financial year. The figures may be revised based on the availability of new or updated sources. In general the adjustments are limited in size and scope. Because of changes in the source material, Information for Third Parties (Iv3), the data are no longer completely comparable with those of earlier years from the budget of 2017 onwards.
