This file lists the boundaries of the National Parks, as published at various times in the Staatscourant (last amendment: 7 October 2013, No DGNR-PDJNG/13163012). The file contains a total of 20 National Parks: the then Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality has designated 17 special nature reserves in the Netherlands as a national park. In addition, there are two private national parks (NP De Hoge Veluwe and NP Veluwezoom) and one Border Park: The Zoom — Kalmthoutse Heide. This border park has been established by the Benelux Committee of Ministers. The park borders are provided by the Secretaries of the National Parks and established by the State Secretary of EZ. The boundaries in the GIS file may differ from those in the BIP (Management and Establishment Plan). Each National Park has a BIP, which is submitted to the Minister of LNV for approval. Each BIP contains a map with the limit of the Park. That boundary is a snapshot. Over time, the boundaries of a Park may change light by small purchases or exchanges of land. These changes will be implemented in the BIP with periodic updates. As a result, a BIP can anticipate the boundaries in this file.
