Status data is a collective term for a wide range of data that say something about the current availability of the road.
The following status data are included in the NDW database:
• Work:
This concerns information on planned and up-to-date work on — in principle — all roads in the Netherlands. A link has been made between the NDW database and the main roadwork registration systems.
•RWS Traffic messages:
These data on traffic jams, accidents, incidents, diversions, dangerous situations, etc. are available on all national roads. Rijkswaterstaat makes these messages and NDW transmits them directly to the customers.
• Bridge openings:
Through measuring equipment, a signal enters the NDW database as soon as the bridge opens or closes again. This signal is transmitted directly to the customers of NDW data. The data of bridges of Rijkswaterstaat and the Rotterdam City Region will be available in this way.
• Status (open or closed) lanes, plus lanes and lanes on the national roads
