NNN Nature Areas (Environmental Regulation 2016)

This file contains NNN nature areas as laid down in the Environmental Regulation of the Province of Groningen 2016. In this Environmental Regulation we have set the limit and included rules for the protection of the Nature Network Netherlands (NNN). NNN nature areas are existing nature reserves or areas to be developed, which lie within the boundaries of the Nature Network. Part of the nature reserves to be developed is now agricultural land. Our policy is to purchase these agricultural lands on a voluntary basis or to transform them into nature with subsidies for change in function and then redesign them. This policy is further elaborated in the Land Policy Note of the province of Groningen. According to plans, the Groningen part of the Nature Network was completed in 2027, with a total of 9,800 hectares of new nature being developed.
