Old dikes (Environmental Regulation 2016)

This file contains old dikes as defined in the Environment Ordinance of the Province of Groningen 2016. In this Environment Regulation we have included rules to protect old dikes or parts or remnants thereof. Dikes are a core characteristic of our province. We protect these values. These include: • (slaper) dikes and related elements such as flasks, drinking dobs, denominations and shot beam houses); • recognizable dike routes; • slate dikes. We encourage the restoration and strengthening of weeds, ashs and dikes and the related elements with instruments through the Rural Area Programme.
