This table shows the investments of pension funds before and after consolidation of the shareholding in Dutch investment funds.
Since 2009, this asset has grown sharply because several large pension funds have converted their investments into shares in mutual funds created by them.
As a result, pension funds in the years from 2009 have a much larger share of their investments made up of shares, and a much smaller share of debt securities such as bonds. Consolidation with investment funds creates a more balanced picture of the distribution of investments.
Data available from 2008 to 2016.
Status of the figures: The results until 2015 are final, the results for 2016 are preliminary.
As this table has been discontinued, the data will no longer be definitive.
Changes as of 7 September 2018:
None, this table has been discontinued.
When are new figures coming?
No longer applicable. In the context of the strategic cooperation between CBS and DNB, a new division of tasks has been agreed.
Institutional investors are explicitly covered by DNB’s area of activity. The publication of tables by CBS with regard to institutional investors is therefore discontinued. DNB delivers results on institutional investors to the OECD.
More information can be found in section 3, including links to the results published by the OECD.
