This table is about persons who experienced a situation in which long-term care was needed for a seriously ill or dependent family member in the year preceding the survey.
These are only people who belong to the household core. The household core consists of the married or cohabiting couple, the single or the parent in a one-parent family.
The data are broken down by employment position and personal characteristics of gender, age, migration background, educational level and household position (single or member of a couple).
In connection with the labour market, a breakdown is made between the employed, the unemployed and the non-working population.
For the employed labour force, the bond is the largest, and for persons belonging to the non-occupied population, the link with the labour market is the least. Especially if they belong to the non-occupational population because they cannot work. However, a further subdivision of the non-occupational population into persons who wish to work 12 hours or more, but did not search or were unavailable, persons who do not want to work and persons who are unable to work is not made in this table.
